The 32nd annual Isle of Wight Garlic Festival took place in August and the crowds gathered to celebrate the pungent plant during the Island’s biggest summer show.
The hugely popular event, held in Newchurch, featured a whole host of family entertainment, including live music from a variety of great bands, a full timetable of arena attractions, festival beer tent, market stalls and a theatre kitchen with special guest Rachel Khoo.
The Garlic Festival, first hosted in 1983 in conjunction with The Garlic Farm, was established to raise much needed funds for the local school and village. It now attracts a crowd of 25,000 people each year to celebrate garlic cuisine.
Among the many local businesses in attendance was Unique Windows, based just around the corner from the home of the event and the Island’s only stockist and manufacturer of the Liniar range of products.
Unique Windows manufacture and install Liniar uPVC windows, doors, patios and bi-folds while also supplying the impressive Liniar roof system.
This year they also displayed Liniar decking, with Mark Cartwright, a regional sales director at Liniar, joining them on the stand to help promote the advantages of the stylish range.
Unique’s involvement proved a great success as Michael Turner, one of the company’s partners, explained: “Masses of brochures were given out over the two days and we had a great deal of interest from visitors who asked lots of questions about the products we were displaying.
“We received a lot of potential leads and also had a great time. We’re already looking forward to next year’s festival!”
