Liniar FIT Show Preview: Investment and Innovation

The 2019 FIT Show is rapidly approaching and everyone’s sorting out the fine details of their stand. With Liniar and sister company Avantek Machinery announcing a joint stand once again, many are wondering what to expect from the industry-leading duo. The Liniar stand at the 2017 FIT Show was a two-storey wonder – so how will the team top their stand design this time?

Strengths

This year, the industry-leading systems house is focusing on two of its greatest strengths: investment and innovation. With the sheer number of new products coming out of Liniar in the 2018 and 2019, it will be interesting to see what will feature on the stand this year.

We’ve taken a sneak peek at what fabricators and installers can expect to find when they visit Liniar at Stand J10 in May.

Key products

Having exhibited at every FIT Show since its inception in 2013, Liniar has always brought along the majority of products from its range for fabricators and installers to see and get a feel for. Since the product range has grown substantially over the last few years, however, there’s no longer enough space on one stand to accommodate them all! Instead, in May 2019 the cutting-edge PVCu systems company will be showcasing key products which are either new to the market, or have won awards.

Innovation

Liniar is known for its philosophy of innovation, having previously released ground-breaking products like the Queen’s Award-winning ModLok™ bi-fold door, the UK’s first Passive House compliant PVCu window and the first fully foiled aluminium doors, Alumina. Liniar’s parent company Quanex has continued to invest in innovation; in just the last six months the company has launched the Elevate lantern roof with a 30-minute install time, plus the UK’s first PVCu double-rebated flush sash window, Resurgence – and more are on their way.

Liniar’s Marketing Director Sue Davenport tells us what visitors can expect when they drop into Stand J10 at the FIT Show:

“While many other systems companies claim innovation, all too often ‘new’ products are simply enhanced versions of existing products. Liniar does things differently with brand new products rolling out of our Design and Development department on a regular basis.

“In the last few months, we’ve launched our Elevate lantern roof within weeks of the first double-rebated flush sash window in the UK – Resurgence and visitors can expect to get their hands on at least two new products launching into the Liniar range.”

Investment

“Investment is critical for us and our customers. We’ve all seen what can happen when businesses are under-invested; it takes a lot of money, hard work and literally years to get back to a strong position when investment has been neglected – and even then, there is no guarantee of success.

“We can’t bring all the FIT Show visitors to our facility in Derbyshire, so this year we’re aiming to bring a bit of Derbyshire to the FIT Show!

Concept product

In a FIT Show first for Liniar, the Design and Development team will be displaying a brand new concept design. Will it be put into production or is it too ahead of its time for the UK window industry?

Design Manager Chris Armes explains:

“We’re excited to show visitors some of the design innovation that goes into creating a Liniar product, so we’re including a few unique features on this year’s stand.

“We’re also doing something we’ve never tried before – asking for public opinions before a product launch. We’ll be displaying a revolutionary new product concept and want to get everyone’s views on whether this unique product should make it into production, so we’d welcome your feedback!’

Fabrication synergies

As in previous years, part of the Liniar stand is allocated to market-leading sister company Avantek Machinery. The companies share many benefits – people and culture amongst them – so fabricators can discover the synergies that can be realised when dealing with both. The expert Avantek team will be on hand to provide advice on factory layouts and how production output could be improved – challenge them to find out how quickly you could take delivery of a brand new machine!

Installation support

Finally, from Sue: “We’ve not forgotten installers – we know how loyal Liniar installers are, so this year there’s going to be plenty for them to check out. We’ll be telling them about our Web2Print service and the full range of marketing support available, as well as giving them the opportunity to get their hands on an exclusive Liniar installer pack containing lots of goodies!’
