Liniar put to the test
The weather performance test achieved a severe weather rating – double that of the usual requirements for the UK. The overall sizes of the windows tested were much larger than what they have tested previously.
The windows easily exceeded the necessary thermal performance requirements set out in the document. Meeting the security standards wasn’t an issue either – the 7950 requirements were effortlessly met needing only the minimum reinforcement.
The guidelines state the minimum standards to be used in the design and specification of new or replacement windows for use in educational facilities. These standards apply to all Primary and Post-primary construction projects for the whole of the Republic of Ireland.
Liniar’s Managing Director Roger Hartshorn comments: “We were pleased to hear that our window met all the criteria set out in the TGD 021-1 document. It was a tough set of demands to meet, and it’s always nice to challenge our technical team with requirements that aren’t part of our usual specification. The fact that we could offer a solution that not only met, but also far exceeded the requirements shows what great capabilities the Liniar system can offer.”
