360 Degree Vision

Sue Davenport, new Group Marketing Director at Liniar, looks back at the company’s journey from its beginnings in 2008 and tells us why 2014 will see it become a true market leader, just six years later…

“As a newcomer to the industry, my first few months with Liniar have been extremely interesting. Trying to absorb 30 years of industry history in a short space of time has been a real challenge, but I felt it was something I needed to do, and I’m glad that I have! It has started to give me a real feel for how the industry works. What has really come across is its incredible vibrancy and innovative nature, and the ‘never say die’ approach from everybody within it. There are plenty of industries which have buckled much more severely during the recession than this one; I am delighted to be a part of it, and I am really excited about the future”.

“In Liniar I also believe that I have joined the best systems company in the industry, one that after just six years in business is in a great position to become a true market leader in 2014; this stems from Managing Director Roger Hartshorn having a real 360 degree view of the industry, and how he has positioned Liniar within it”.

“From the outset, Roger had a clear vision of where he wanted to get to; the first step was to develop outstanding and innovative products to give the new Liniar customers confidence, and the opportunity to compete on an equal footing with their counterparts selling more well established products; and then to bring products to market which were better than those already in existence, ensuring that they were both cost effective to manufacture and install, and to give the end consumer a range of unique benefits”.

“We know that Liniar is respected industry wide for its products, and its range of bi-fold doors is a prime example. As the first bespoke uPVC bi-fold range on the market, its sales continue to outstrip those of its competitors, and a brand new additional concept scheduled to hit the market early in the New Year will see it push on again. New product innovation will continue to be the mainstay of the company ethos”.

An infrastructure to support customer growth

“Supporting the strength of the product range is the strength of the Liniar infrastructure. We have invested significantly over the past 18 months in a brand new on-site warehouse to provide logistical efficiency and great customer service for our customers; we have developed and invested in a state-of-the-art foiling plant to ensure that we can meet customer demand as the trend towards coloured windows and doors continues to grow; and we have also invested in and recently opened the largest capacity and most technologically advanced mixing plant in the UK. All of these measures are designed to support our existing customers as we help them to grow, and to act as the foundation for future market expansion”.
