Choosing a window and door system

Liniar House

Howard Hirst, Sales Director at Liniar, discusses the options to consider, and offers advice for installers thinking of upgrading the system they choose to install.

Energy efficiency as a selling point

uPVC windows can offer huge thermal benefits to your customers, due to their design and manufacturing process.  Multiple chambers in the frames help prevent heat transferring to the outside and built-in gaskets can ensure a perfect weather seal.

Being able to demonstrate this to your customer is critical and can give you a competitive advantage during the sales process. Helping them to save on their heating bills can be a big selling point, so look for a system that explains everything fully.  Visit www.liniar.co.uk/about/energyplus to ensure you’re up to speed – and why not point your customers to the website too?

Style choice

Find out about the different styles of frames available to you, and whether your customers can mix and match styles and colours for the ultimate in flexibility.

Flush sash windows, where the sash fits neatly within the outer frame, can often be used in conservation areas when finished with woodgrain effect foils as they give the illusion of timber.

Mock horn sashes can be used in place of vertical sliders, giving homeowners a more practical solution without sacrificing an authentic appearance.

Product choice

Being able to offer customers fully matching products will give you another sales advantage, as well as an opportunity to up-sell, so find out what else is available in the same range.

Bi-folds

Bi-folding doors have already seen incredible popularity, which is expected to continue. The Liniar ModLok™ bi-fold is the only uPVC bi-fold with an aluminium exoskeleton, offering the ultimate in strength and security in one. PAS:24 and Secured By Design accredited, the ModLok™ bi-fold matches perfectly with Liniar windows and doors to give projects a seamless appearance. Or if your customer requires aluminium bi-folds, try Alumina by Liniar – a true aluminium bi-fold with matching sculptured lines and the option to be foiled to match. Both have low threshold options, making them truly family friendly.

Fitting a bi-fold can be more complex than windows, so Liniar’s installation guides and videos are freely accessible to all installers, helping you to get it right first time.

Sliding patio doors

Despite the rise in bi-folds, the more traditional patio door is still popular with consumers – and Liniar’s ModLok™ patio system ticks all the boxes. The patio features a uniquely light ‘air glide’ motion, with hidden crash stops and self-lubricating, multi-wheeled rollers – with low threshold options available too.

Conservatory roofs

Why build a conservatory with a roof that doesn’t match the windows? With a Liniar roof kit, each roof is built to your customer’s exact requirements and supplied in kit format with everything you need. Installers tell us it’s one of the simplest roofs to fit, and the finishing touches such as fully foiled, twin walled top caps and foiled end caps, make it one of the most beautiful on the market.

Roofline

The ability to offer matching fascias and soffits gives installers another advantage, as the Liniar range is consistently flat, has a thicker, stronger board than other ranges and is perfectly foiled to match windows. It’s also a dream to fit, with pre-marked and lined protective tape avoiding the risk of scratching.

Add-on products

With matching foam trims and silicones, as well as the ability to offer low maintenance garden fencing and decking, with balustrades to match windows, you’ll be able to offer even more to customers – resulting in higher sales for you.

Guaranteed

Add a single point of guarantee, a huge choice of colour options and operation and maintenance instructions to leave with your customer – and it makes sense to choose everything from the same range.
