Liniar’s apprenticeship programme goes back more than four decades and still actively seeks young people looking to join the industry every year – in a variety of departments from design and marketing to tooling, fabrication, finance and engineering. Former CEO Roger Hartshorn began his own career as an apprentice toolmaker at 16, and encouraged his own family to follow this example, citing the belief that nothing can replace the value of ‘on the job’ learning.
Many of Liniar’s former apprentices have stayed with the company and risen through the ranks to supervisor, manager or even director level; we believe this is an ideal career path for many people and enables them to learn the culture and methods of the company, backed up by the theoretical knowledge they need to perform their prospective roles.
Liniar works with local educational establishments to provide classroom-based learned alongside day to day work activities at Liniar, and time is allocated to study as required.
