The Liniar team was introduced to Glen Speake during one of his very first Alumina installation projects – a new build home which included foiled PVCu 7016 Grey Liniar casement windows and matching aluminium bi-folding doors.
Now one of the biggest customers of trade counter Europlas in Telford, Glen has since installed many more Alumina bi-folds alongside Liniar windows. We recently got in touch to find out why he loves installing Liniar and what makes the Alumina door so unique.
Working out of Shrewsbury, Glen Speake Windows has been in business for over ten years, specialising in the residential market. For the last six of those years, the company has been installing Liniar products in bespoke projects.
Glen explained to us how he found Alumina:
“I was purchasing my Liniar products as usual and mentioned I would be needing aluminium bi-fold doors for an upcoming project. My contact Tonia Lloyd showed me a sample of the foiled Alumina bi-folding door from Liniar and I was astonished at how well it matched the sculptured window suite.
“The corner sample really stood out against an alternative, hybrid system – the high quality of Alumina spoke for itself and the foiling and sculptured bead meant it was a perfect match for the Liniar windows I was already buying.
“With the foiled finish, Alumina comes with PVCu beads, instead of the usual aluminium beads, making the door sashes much faster and easier to glaze. And as it’s been created by the same design team as the Liniar system itself, I knew it would come with the same assurances of quality, ease of installation and accreditation.
“I love installing the Liniar system compared to other windows. The patented innovations the team have included make it lighter to carry on site, faster to fit and even the glazing platforms have been cleverly designed to make sure the glass is perfectly supported and symmetrical.
“Alumina definitely hasn’t disappointed. The low threshold is so simple to fit, it doesn’t even need a trench digging out – and the doors themselves are full of ingenious features such as discreet magnets and folding keys… it just looks beautiful.
“Since that first project, I haven’t looked back – I’ve used Liniar windows and Alumina doors together on a number of builds and the positive feedback from homeowners has been overwhelming.”

We put in a call to Tonia at Europlas and discovered that Glen Speake Windows is well known in the area for delivering high-quality results with Liniar products.
Tonia says, “Builders and homeowners alike love the work carried out by Glen; he’s a great customer to have. Recently, the company installed stunning Agate Grey casement windows in a new build project.
“Glen is known for matching everything from the gutters and fascia to the doors and windows. It’s his ‘outside the norm’ view that draws builders to him; he’s always open to new ideas and suggestions when a new product is launched and takes them back to his own customers.”
Top Quality Customer Service
When it comes to quality, it seems the feeling is mutual – when we spoke with Glen, he couldn’t speak more highly about his local trade counter, Europlas Telford, and the service he receives from Tonia herself.
For example, when a job arose which required a custom Liniar product that Europlas’ fabricator R&V doesn’t manufacture, Tonia went above and beyond to find Glen a Liniar fabricator who could fulfil the order for mechanically-jointed flush sash windows.
It’s this kind of dedication and support for customers that mirrors Liniar’s own values. We enjoy hearing about our fabricators working together to achieve the best possible outcome for their customers!
