Polytherm provides excellence

Established in early 2020, the Polytherm Group in Cambridgeshire is a relative newcomer within the construction industry – but that hasn’t stopped it from making a name for itself as one of the best.

Starting with experience

Experienced in the construction industry for over two decades, Polytherm Group Managing Director Jaron Sly and his wife Nicki sought to open a building products supply company to continue supporting the industry.

“When founding my new business, I wanted to provide builders with high-quality roofline products that were easy to install. I also wanted them to come from a systems house with a good name – one that had a history of providing outstanding service to its customers… something I would have appreciated when I was a builder,” comments Jaron.

“After researching all the manufacturers of PVCu building products, I settled on Liniar. There were many reasons for this – but one of the most critical was that the whole system is easy to use. Marked lines on the fascia board’s protective tape make cutting and installing easier, and Liniar’s boards are also thicker than rivals, which avoids splitting when nailing through them.

“Throughout my years in the industry, I had the opportunity to use several different brands of roofline and trims,” states Jaron. “I found Liniar offered consistently good quality products and always provided a high level of service to its customers – and that hasn’t changed from when I was a builder.”

Open for business

While Polytherm was established in February 2020, it only opened for business to the public a mere ten days before the first UK lockdown brought the nation to a standstill, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Nicki Sly explains: “Initially, we had planned to have our opening day at the beginning of April, to introduce the new company to the construction businesses in our area. Of course, once lockdown was announced, the open day was put on hold – and still is, thanks to social distancing measures.

“Whilst 2020 has been a very challenging year for us – as it has been for everyone in the country – we chose to keep our doors open throughout every lockdown. There were still builders working on projects which would need our products and the services we provide, so we felt it was our duty to be there to help – in a safe way,” comments Nicki.

It’s this level of customer service through such unprecedented times that has really solidified Polytherm’s place within the industry, earning them a much-deserved reputation for reliability and dedication to customers.

Working with Liniar

“Sure, this year hasn’t been typical and has brought challenges we wouldn’t have faced otherwise – but we weren’t alone through it,” says Jaron. “Our Liniar Regional Sales Manager Dave Page-Smith has been just a phone call away. He listens to his customers and has always been there whenever we’ve needed help or if an issue presented itself.”

Jaron concludes: “Additionally, the Liniar range itself has been a real hit with our customers!”
