Sustainability Award Nomination for Liniar

With a continued focus on making a difference in the local community and ensuring that its impact on the environment is a positive one, leading PVCu systems company Liniar is delighted to announce it’s been shortlisted for the Sustainability Initiative of the Year at the G Awards 2019 under its trading company HL Plastics!

“The G Awards are one of the most prestigious awards for the fenestration industry and to be listed as a finalist is one of the highest honours,” comments Liniar’s Marketing Director Sue Davenport.

“Liniar’s environmental and recycling initiatives are embedded in the culture of the business, including the achievement of ISO 14001 accreditation and ongoing investment in site and facilities. Our CO² savings equate to hundreds of thousands of tonnes and we’re 63% ahead of target on our Specific Energy Consumption.

“We didn’t begin these changes to be named as a finalist – but it’s great to receive the recognition. Having been recycling in-house for more than 25 years, we’re proud of our zero operational waste record – and we’re delighted the fenestration industry is becoming increasingly environmentally conscious. It’s one of our goals to ensure the construction industry continues to view PVCu as a sustainable solution.”

In addition to shrinking its own carbon footprint, Liniar’s design team has always strived for the creation of the most energy efficient windows and doors as possible. The EnergyPlus90 90mm system is the UK’s first PVCu window system to achieve Passive House certification, and the latest flush sash Resurgence achieves U-values as low as 0.8, thanks to its double rebate – all helping to reduce energy consumption around the nation.

Plot Twist!
Being shortlisted is excellent, but in a twist of fate, Liniar is up against one of its customers for the G Award! One of Liniar’s fellow finalists happens to be its newest commercial fabricator in Scotland, CMS Window Systems.
