Royale Glazing Retrofits Social Housing with Liniar’s 70mm PVCu System
When Royale Glazing won the contract to replace old single-glazed timber windows in social housing at Wyatt Close, Feltham, the team knew a flawless installation was key to expanding their presence in the sector.
Local expertise, seamless delivery
The project involved the fabrication and installation of approximately 140 windows and doors, all using Liniar’s 70mm system. For Royale Glazing, the project played to their strengths as a fabricator-installer known for meeting firm deadlines and their transparent communication.
“We’re based just around the corner from the site,” said Sales team member Karl Marie. “Having the factory so close meant we could manage everything tightly. It was a real team effort with manufacturing handled by Gurdev Chaggar, Rui Soares and Tony Dacosta. Installation was taken care of by fitters Paul Savchuck and Bruno Dacosta. Tony was also responsible for surveying and coordinated with residents to ensure things stayed perfectly on schedule.”
Built for comfort, designed for style
Karl continues, “The original windows were single-glazed timber units, offering poor thermal performance and no ventilation features. We opted for Liniar’s PVCu casement windows featuring double glazing, which have significantly enhanced thermal efficiency and comfort for residents. The renovation has also brought the homes up to current Building Regulation requirements, including the addition of trickle vents and toughened safety glass where needed.”
“The original frames were 70mm, so Liniar’s system slotted straight in without any need for time-consuming, messy plasterwork which would have been very disruptive to residents. Liniar also offered the profile in Rosewood, which was a Housing Association requirement to fit in with nearby buildings, while the option for casement windows to feature flying mullions, which we installed on all 1st floor bedrooms, provides unobstructed views when open.”
Karl also praised Liniar’s 70mm system for being easy to work with and fabricator friendly. “We make everything in-house, and patented features such as the co-extruded bubble gasket make manufacturing easier and result in superior weather performance – so our team can get on with every aspect of the job without delays or rework. Overall, specifying Liniar just made great sense.”
Royale Glazing coordinated closely with the housing association and tenants, arranging surveys, scaffold access, and installation slots to minimize disruption. “We managed all the communication directly with the residents,” said Karl, “that personal approach made a big difference to reassuring tenants and facilitating the installations.”
Plans for the future
While this was Royale Glazing’s first full social housing retrofit, the results spoke for themselves. “The Housing Association left us a fantastic review,” said Karl, “and told us we’d be their first port of call on future projects in the area.”
Looking ahead, Royale Glazing is eyeing more opportunities in the public sector. “Our current strategy isn’t fast growth at the expense of losing a personal touch,” Karl explains, “but we do focus on high-end craftsmanship and transparent communication. We firmly believe, if we carry on doing what we do best - keeping customers happy and delivering consistent quality - then the rest will follow.”
