An eggs-cellent haul for Derbyshire WISH

At the heart of Liniar is a team who firmly believes in community, and as such gives egg-tremely generously – with Easter 2022 being no egg-ception!

Each year, the 650-strong Liniar team donates Easter Eggs to the children at Derbyshire WISH, a local charity supporting women, men and children living with the effects of domestic violence. Derbyshire WISH offers support and has approximately 40 safe houses in secure locations for people and families fleeing domestic violence.

Organised by our own egg-ceptional Kerry Sweet from the Liniar Purchasing team, we donated 381 Easter Eggs this year, beating last year’s amount of 325. The chocolate eggs were delivered to Derbyshire WISH and handed out to children who otherwise wouldn’t have received an Easter treat.

Derbyshire WISH is a charity close to all of our hearts - and having had the opportunity to visit a refuge, Kerry comments:

"People who have been victims of domestic violence leave their homes with nothing, often having to flee in the dead of night taking small children with them in order to escape. Derbyshire WISH refuges offer a safe haven, but they can’t offer the treats and luxuries for children that a normal family life provides. That’s where Team Liniar can help. Each year we collect treats including Easter eggs, toys and wrapped Christmas presents to give families a sense of normality and a small boost.”

Kerry continues,

“One of the reasons I love working at Liniar is that we support local charities and community projects. Ronny Stoppard, my colleague and charity partner in crime and I are always coming up with ideas of how we can find new ways to fund raise – with the emphasis on ‘fun’ whenever we can. The Senior Management Team not only support us but get involved too (including being put into stocks and having wet sponges thrown at them for Red Nose Day!). It’s easier to get behind our projects when they are supporting such good causes!”
