Why civil engineers and utilities contractors choose Liniar

Liniar’s piling and fencing ranges are the ideal products to use in a wide variety of civils and utilities projects.

Liniar Plastic Piling

Civil engineering and utility works such as the installation or repair of water mains, telecoms, gas, underground power cables, sewer and storm drain systems, usually require trench work.

When trench work is needed to access utility pipelines, shoring is usually required in order to stabilise the walls and make it safe for the work force.

Traditionally, shoring was made from steel, and due to its weight and cost, had to be installed and removed with every job.

Liniar’s uPVC piling has enabled utility contractors to install piling along the sides of the trench and leave it in place – the benefits of which are multiple.

The piling is highly unlikely to be a target for thieves while the work is underway, unlike steel which is easily traded in as scrap – and the low cost of plastic piling means it can be left in place once the work is completed.

It’s also lightweight enough to be carried easily to site and installed manually.

Liniar Fencing Systems

Liniar’s innovative range of uPVC fencing systems offer a practical alternative to more traditional fencing products for use in civil and utility projects.

The Liniar fencing system is maintenance free – and because it’s made from eco-friendly recycled uPVC, it won’t rot or rust.

Liniar’s fence posts and gravel boards are lightweight, making them easy to transport, carry and install. However, this doesn’t mean they’re not strong – they can withstand storm force winds and are highly durable, meaning they won’t crack, break or corrode.

The whole Liniar range of low maintenance uPVC fence posts and gravel boards can be installed in exactly the same way as concrete or timber products but offer a much more durable solution.

Liniar’s uPVC 110mm x 110mm rebated fence posts are compatible with other systems and can be used in conjunction with timber panels, which slot easily into place. Alternatively, Liniar gravel boards can be utilised to create a full plastic panel – just slot several sets of boards on top of each other.

The lightweight posts are easy to install, weighing only 10% of a standard concrete post – with Liniar’s 8ft and 9ft posts containing galvanised steel reinforcement to give them even more strength.

PVC gravel boards, also only 10% of the weight of concrete boards, can slot into any existing concrete posts, either to protect wooden panels from condensation damage, or to replace timber panels altogether when stacked to form a full panel.
