Complete both survey sheets below in full, including a sketched plan view. Note the locations of drains, soil pipes and other obstructions.
The internal dimensions refer to the internal frame size, not the floor size. The internal frame sizes are used to set out the conservatory.
Check for any obstructions as well as the height of any windows that are situated above the site of the conservatory. Please allow 150mm for ridge flashing and trims.
Ventilation is important, especially if the conservatory will be South facing. Make sure there are plenty of openers in window frames, and also consider a roof vent.
Please identify the locations of doors and types so the roof design can be adapted accordingly, as extra strength to the ring beam may be required. The maximum unsupported length depends on the geographical location, the glazing material and the style of the roof, so identification of these wide openings at the design stage will help to ensure the correct roof is specified.
