Glazedale scoops National Fenestration Award

Liniar fabricator Glazedale has been awarded the title of overall Cool Wall winner in the National Fenestration Awards 2013 – the UK Double Glazing and Fenestration Industry’s awards scheme.

Glazedale is a family run home improvement business based in Langley Mill, Nottinghamshire. A FENSA registered company, Glazedale was established more than 25 years ago and has a team with many years of experience in fabricating and installing double-glazed uPVC windows, doors, conservatories and orangeries.

The National Fenestration Awards are unique in that there is no judging panel; all nominations and votes are cast online by people actively working and engaged with the industry – making them truly democratic and open to companies of all sizes.

The Cool Wall is an opportunity for installers to showcase their work and demonstrate the diversity of installations that are carried out across the country every day, and has been running on the National Fenestration Awards’ website since April 2013. Glazedale were eager to enter their installation details in order to showcase their work – and the team were delighted to win the very first monthly Cool Wall, based on the number of independent votes received.

Glazedale’s entry showed a cream window and conservatory installation, the windows fabricated with Liniar profile. The customer had old wooden frames and wanted replacement windows and a new conservatory in uPVC. Initially the customer chose rosewood, but Darren Shelbourn, Glazedale’s Sales Director managed to persuade him to go for cream uPVC frames as this colour would suit the style of the house much better than rosewood.

When the votes placed throughout the year were counted up, Glazedale were announced as joint overall winners by the National Fenestration Awards team. Darren Shelbourn commented:

“It’s great to have our work recognised by the industry, and what makes this award even more important is that it was voted for by our peers – so it really means a lot to us.”
